If we shy away from transparency when things are rough, then it’s not really a core value, it’s just a marketing tactic. Rand is one of a very short list of real people in the world I’ve come across of whom I respect and trust completely. And that’s weird, because I’ve never met him personally. I’ve only listened to his podcasts and interviews and watched him helm MOZ over the years (now at SparkToro) , yet I fully trust him.
He is the epitome of vulnerability and transparency. The real deal.
